and now im dealing with the shop filing BBB for them not tighting my lug nuts

damn that sucks. hope the bbb can do something for you.

I REALLLY hate to say it, but the shop looks sketchy....and was a gamble to go there anyway. The BBB wont do much. I'd contact the B.A.R directly via phone call. After working at a BS tire shop for 3 Months I know what type of work most do (Carroll"s Tire) you will get them either A) torqued to 600ft/lbs B) not torqued at all

Curious what size tires your running?? I can get used tires quite a bit (odd ball sized ones)

BBB can't do anything. Contact the BAR.

P.S.. I highly recommend against going to shops like that. You usually get what you pay for. Buyer beware

damn sucks to hear they messed up your wheel hope BAR can help you out...

When ever i go to get my tires done i watch every move they make, i watch the jack points, watch them remove the tires as well as balancing the wheels and last but not least i watch them shoot on every wheel. Just so that i feel comfortable driving away. sorry to hear about your situation G. Hope everything gets delt with. BTW what shop was this at??

also... i recommend taking your wheels/tires in if you can. they tend to use tools that scratch your wheels and damage the lug nuts/locks. most tire places impact everything without torque sticks. very scary stuff.

yup like every shop has a sign" NO CUSTOMERS IN WORK AREA" bullshit!!!! i tell them if they dont let me see the work then ill go some where else. Eventually they will budge because they need our money as much as we need them damn rubbers

That Bullshit Sign is for Insurance Issue's. If you get hurt they are going to get reemed. I know the guy that does all my tire stuff. Tq's the lug's by hand he also auto x's.
John that suck's but I had the discount tire on shaw in clovis tell me when they were going to do an alignment, that my brake caliper bolts where loose and they tightened them down, not even 500ft out of their parking lot it magically fell off. I was pissed to no end. Not really shit i could do I wasn't going to go thru the legal trouble since it didnt brake anything. Just made me not trust these type of places.

Damn! That's why I never let the tire shops mount the wheels on the car. I just let them mount the tires then I go home and put the wheels on the car myself. Last time I let a tire shop use their air tools, I couldn't take off the lug nuts for shit. I even used a breaker bar. I just ended up giving up. The only place I trust is All Star Repair. They actually use a torque wrench.

this is what i prefer to do as well. at least whenever i can. i like to mount my tires on the car myself.

This is true. Billy and his guys always use one. It gives a warm, fuzzy feeling to hear the "click". So I guess I do let ONE tire shop uninstall/install my wheels.

I was the ONLY tire installer for BMW for about a year. Did toooooons of cars (roughly 6-10 a day) w/o an issue.

I've done everything from 325i's to a Rolls-Royce Phantom ($3,700 for set of 4 tires!). As long as the tech takes pride in his work, your okay. But sad thing most don't, just out to make a quick buck.

it surprisingly beat a wrx with sti bolt on's with a tune, a ep3 turbocharged tuned, dig and 40mph roll. and some random civic on herndon. dunno what it had. that was just last weekend

We all know not every civic on the stone is fast. John btw don't take what I said personal. Its all about what a person is happy with. I must say you seem alot happier then when you had the coupe.

im more happy because i dont get singled out by cops anymore. and i dont have to worry about thing sbreaking or checking the coolant and oil every night after we race. so far only had the pcv valve break. 8bucks at the dealer.

thanks tho coach. im probably more happy because i have a relationship going on with someone i really like.
