how early can you smog?

How early can you re-smog your car? My tags are due july and this year I have to smog but I want to know how early can we smog? My car will be needing a test only smog. - thanks.

I believe a smog certificate is only valid for 90 days.

why smog your car before you have too? you can smog it when ever please, but dmv only cares when your car is due for the check up.

Mine is due this year in july.

I'd say June just to be safe. Are you afraid that it wont pass?

just buy a new cat and leave it on long enough to smog and then take it off and protect it.

I have done this and it did not work for me. The cat went bad from sitting and not being used for 2 years.

I have done this and it did not work for me. The cat went bad from sitting and not being used for 2 years.

All my cats havnt lasted. Some reason all the after market ones i get magnaflow or what ever never last with all the driving i do.

No. I just put it in a storage bin in my garage.

90 days before your tags are due no more than that.
