ah. that could be a problem on tight auto-x courses. especially seeing how you are accelerating from such low speeds. you wouldn't notice as much on a larger track. just saying. DOIT. LOL. as soon as you can!

im also kinda stuck if i really want to ditch the ls trans or keep it and rebuild it with a quafe. i really liked the fact i didnt have to leave 2nd.

Shorter ratios are always faster, though. if you have an LS engine, then you can't rev too high and will prob have to hit 3rd. Still...the acceleration would improve. You would probably be faster with a b16 Trans with an open diff than LSD in an LS transmission.

| i really think it wouldnt matter too much. i'm thinking about buying a final drive to shortin up the ls transmission. i got rid of my lsd b16 i had on this due to the fact it was out of gear to quick. i dont think the b16 trans would help me as much. maybe a 98 spec itr, but thats a ways out. im not going to get rid of the ls no point. start small like i need brakes and tires. which both should be covered here soon. | |

If you ran out of gear with the b16 Trans, the ITR should more or less be the same. How did you "run out" of gearing? You mean like at the drag strip? Good call on tires and brakes. That will make a huge difference.

Good call on tires and brakes. That will make a huge difference. i was coming home one day and the ls in 5th on the 4.4 didnt have enough motor. i would be at 54-5500 on 14's doing about 70. it was bad. never think that would hurt me auto x but im also trying to hit the like of button willow or seca. itr has a bit taller gears up top i believe.

| yes the tires are key in my start. kurt is going to get me a deal on some ad08's. i think that will be a good start over my dz101's. they did pretty well compared to what i read about them. who knows. I am also going to get the brake fuild my friend has name i cant remember but its blue if that helps. I also want to get ss lines. | |

| Yeah....shorter gears, tiny wheels, and freeways do not match up well. Lol. I'd recommend a normal-sized wheel instead of the trans. Makes more sense than to build the car around a 14" tire? Super Blue. I have the same fluid. Lasts me about a year before I have to swap it out. More if I go longer before my next event.. Good stuff. Not needed for auto x, but helps a TON on the big track! | |

| 15s are the way to go. Both great on selection for street tires and DOT legal race rubber. 14s are a dying breed. No one wants to make grippy tires for them anymore. | |

| 15s are a perfect wheel size. as mentioned above: lots of good, CHEAP rubber to be had. you can pick the best of the best without breaking the bank.

i think 8's will be do able. gonna get the rpf1's in a 15x7 for now. those will work well with the 205 ad08's im scoring from you.

| Look into 949racing and their 6ul lineup. 7s all the way to 10s in 15" flava. | |
