why do some people overprice parts for sale in Fresno?

not to be rude its just i see overpriced parts on here for sale. what do you guys think? if i offended some of then i apologize. no hatred i just thought i put it out there.

Everywhere is overpriced. I feel the same way u do. Parts for my honda is wayy more than my toyota. It will always be that way i guess. Honda parts is just too jdm

well, in my opinion it really depends on the demand in the secondhand market. in generally anything labeled "authentic jdm" or such is gonna be overpriced because people want it. that, or the fact is that everyone knows everyone else is gonna try to hustle it down, so why not overprice eh?

I still get lowballed for my wings west authentic front lip and its not plastic cheap stuff. Plus its still brand new and sell for $200 when I was only asking $150. People still lowball me $80.

it's because people in the central valley think honda parts are made of gold. just because your car is hella JDM doesn't mean some chick's dad is willing to give you $5000 for your EG so she can get so school.

i, personally, put a high price because the central valley is also the state capital for low ballers. i can put a part up for $1 and some ricer is still going to ask, "will you take fifty cents?". they all want to feel like they got a deal. so, i inflate the price then settle on the price i really wanted.

i may be the ONLY person i know that doesn't buy that way. if i see something i need for a price i'm willing to pay, i buy it. no haggling. if i'm serious, that is. that doesn't count when i see something i "kinda" want and then i low ball. LOL. it's only because if i can get it THAT cheap, i'll take it. if not, no biggie as i didn't need it in the first place. Ryan at AI has gotten a LOT of stuff that way. you never know, so you gotta ask.

i do the same as kaj, if i need a part, i typically pay the asking price. and when i sell i ask for more than i want because craigslist is the place people go to lowball.

Auto Recyclers does that. Expensive as hell, but they are the only import wrecking yard we have, I think.....so what can we do? They tell me, "then go to the dealership".

its cuz honda uses gold when making there parts...i asked the dealer to verify....

i'd pay for authentic parts all day. But when i see the fake or JDM so called parts pricey i get irritated hahah

haha actually im not,... I couldn't care less... its something called supply and demand... My area doesn't have a local resource for import parts (real or fake).. i could sell authentic parts but seriously....i would only be reaching out to a market i could probably count on my fingers.

the reality is that something is worth what someone will pay.

My opinion on this topic is buy whatever flips your tortilla....

Anyone who knows me personally knows that my EK is full of authentic Japanese parts, because it is what "I LIKE"....I sell replica parts because its what sells....sure thats hypocritical of me but only to a certain extent..... I'm only providing a local access to parts they were gonna buy on eBay anyway. I would rather have the money circulate locally rather than sending it across the country. SUPPORT LOCAL SHOPS/VENDORS.

But to stay on topic. I overprice my stuff just to get lowballed. Lol. Which is inevitable.

i get low balled all the time. Someone offered me $100 on BNIB Wiseco pistons I posted for $200. I usually ignore them because I hate that shit. I usually buy my parts new and if I see a price thats decent, I wont lowball, Ill buy it at that price.

They gotta drive other cars to know that lowballing in that world wont go far. No Offense to people who love there cars and dont lowball. Parts for my supra is hard to get and when it pops up its gone.

i see nothing wrong with selling fake parts while only buying "real" ones for yourself.


most people in fresno buy fake stuff. it's cheap and what they can afford, so it sells. or, the people buying the part don't care. they like the look and don't stress of the name. there is a reason all the chinese companies make money. if i owned a Honda, i'd most likely never run any wheel but Rota unless i happened on a VERY reasonably-priced set of better wheels. i had Works on my GSR, but only because they came with it. my ITR had the JDM OEM 16s. i could have had something baller, but they were the best looking wheels for that car, IMO.

as stated above, it's all preference. people will pay what they will. why else would a 14yr old Supra sell for $45,000?
