LOL. i wanna get her involved. i hope to do all the auto-x events in Fresno this year. we'll see what how my schedule and finances go. and if things work out "just right".. i'll be in a different car.

| For me, I've been having to pick between 4 auto-x events and two track days. No comparison for me, since I can't do them all. Plus auto-x always seems to be my kid weekends. When I have him, I'm usually taking him to his games. But we'll see. I like having local events. But $45 can be hard to part with, at times. Lol | |

| Need to learn basic track necessities. Good quality pads and a good set of tires will equal fun times. Nothing worse than having your brakes fade after a few laps and your tires screaming for mercy at every steering input, other than blowing your motor up or wrecking your sweet ride. | |

i'm not exactly a noob. i just didn't swap my rear pads before the last event. i always use street tires. it's a street car, so.. i only bought the slicks 'cause they were cheap. i can't wait to try them!

But in all seriousness, Based on my research and experience, I beg to differ. Take a look at how many cars are running Hankook tires at the next time attack. Awesome tires. Unless you drive a Honda. Then would recommend Nitto Neo Gens (they only make Honda sizes). They worked great at Buttonwillow! Completely owned our Falken Azenis.

| Your going to bring that NeoGen argument up again?
Bring both tires and lets test that theory.
BTW, if they really wanted to destroy records they would all have a fresh set of Hoosier A6s on tap.

BTW, if they really wanted to destroy records they would all have a fresh set of Hoosier A6s on tap. No arguments here. I tried two tires on the same track, on the same car and know which worked better. I said I'd recommend them, not that it's a law anyone has to follow. :-) I don't know what GTA's policy on tires is. I just noticed most of the updates I see for the event show lots of cars on RS3s. I'm not trying to make a sales pitch for them or anything, it's just what caught my eye. I was pretty surprised, actually.

Awesome tires. Unless you drive a Honda. Then would recommend Nitto Neo Gens (they only make Honda sizes). They worked great at Buttonwillow! Completely owned our Falken Azenis. i was talking about there slick....imo my rock hard ad08's feel better then the neo gens. my track tire will be a triple 8 or the new one the switched to the ra1's or what ever. all i see honda's use. the hancooks will be used for auto x only. im not forking out money for a6's at the moment. Oooooh. Race tires. Gotcha. I know nothing about slicks. Lol. I'd consider most of those tires all in a class far above summer street tires. I would never compare Neo Gen, Azenis, or V12 to any serious DOT tire. I probably should qualify my statement by saying my recommendations would be for all those people that ask about a cheap, but decent tire. I'll post up some reviews I read before buying the Hankooks, if anyone is curious. They were beat by one tire in the comparison, iirc, but it was a far more expensive tire. I research like crazy before spending money on important stuff. Lol

| yeah i dont but shitty tires just to bacause i want to save money. Im more about trying different componds and seeing what tire i like. i have found the reviews rather pointless at times. | |

the reviews i read are usually from road racers. like i said, i look like crazy when i research. LOL. i like using street tires for the same reason i used drag radials at the drag strip. i like to see how well i can do with a "regular" car. the Continentals i have will be my first "real" tire. i just gotta see what it's like.. just once. i probably won't use them more than two or three times... or maybe until they die. so i'm having trouble convincing myself to buy wheels just for that. i'm waiting 'till i find something dirt cheap. or.... the tires will go bad. whichever comes first.

| Your "real" tire are "real" sensitive to how they live their life. Depends on where you store them and how they are treated during their life. Probably will need some FormulaV treatment to bring any life back to them. The more you wait, the worse things will get in terms of grip.
Must have had some CRAZY research on them NeoGenzzzzz.
