My Rotas are JWL certified. :-)
If any wheel were subjected to those types of impacts, in real-world conditions, I'd imagine the owner would wanna replace it. Forged or fake. Still, it would be nice to have it hold together, I suppose, though you're car is probably gonna be totaled anyway.
knock on wood, I've never had a side impact like that. Unfortunately I've bent my fair share of lips .

yeah, a cheap wheel will would not hold your car together. Safety is effected by the quality of your wheels too. I'm building my car for road racing and so this is something I have to consider. If I was a hardparker than this probably wouldn't matter much.

I honestly wouldn't trust any knock off brand other than Rota, either. As for safety, a fake wheel will survive anything the rest of your car will. If the wheel breaks? Your car is broken anyway no matter what wheel you were running, so....
Wait...not ALL fake wheels! There are some really bad ones out there! I was looking for a specific wheel on Ebay, the other day. Wow. There are some crap wheels out there.

All lips bend pretty easily. I've done it with Rota and Rays. It doesn't take much, unfortunately

lol you probably be dead, crashing at 100mph. so the rims will be your lest worry. 10-20mph, depending how heavy your car is will do plenty damage to the wheels, especially on rainy day.
